What Is Sadhana — and Why Does It Matter?
Sadhana is a Sanskrit term that refers to a consistent spiritual practice — a path of awareness, self-discipline, and growth.
It’s about becoming a better human being and living a meaningful, joyful, and wholesome life through conscious awareness.
A steady sadhana is often supported by practices such as asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breath control), and meditation. When the mind, body, and spirit are intentionally united for spiritual evolution, the result is a simple yet profound way to surrender the ego, release attachment, and cultivate inner peace in everyday life.
Sadhana is the foundation of yoga, the discipline that sustains your growth and balance on and off the mat.
When building your personal practice, it’s important to choose methods, frequency, and duration that you can integrate naturally into your daily life.
At its essence, sadhana is about using every experience as a tool for well-being.
This is exactly what One Yoga’s Sadhana Retreat offers — a dedicated space to deepen your yoga practice, nurture your inner awareness, and reconnect with your true self.

A Day in the Sadhana Retreat
Each day of the retreat is thoughtfully designed to deepen your yoga practice and help you reconnect with your authentic self.
Your morning begins with a complete yoga session, integrating asana, pranayama, and meditation, followed by a nourishing breakfast. Morning philosophy classes explore essential yogic teachings to expand your understanding and support your personal journey.
Before lunch, you’ll experience deep relaxation through Sound Healing or Yoga Nidra, a meditative state often called “psychic sleep.”
In the late afternoon, you’ll return to your mat for another enriching yoga session. After a restful break, the day concludes with evening silent meditation, cultivating stillness and inner clarity.
Ample free time is built into the schedule, allowing you to relax on the private beach, enjoy the sea breeze, or explore the tranquil island surroundings.
Yoga
You’ll explore multiple yoga styles, including:
- Hatha
- Vinyasa
- Yin Yoga
Each class is thoughtfully adapted to the needs of the group, with variations for all levels — making the practice accessible and rewarding for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.
Meditation
Evening sessions feature 45 minutes of silent sitting meditation.
If you’re new to meditation, One Yoga’s experienced teachers will gently guide you through a simple yet effective technique.
If you already have a personal practice, you can continue it during these peaceful sessions.
